Graduating in 2021 from Cégep du Vieux Montréal in architectural technology, Mathias has a very technical vision of architecture and enjoys solving the brainteasers that projects pose. He joins the team of Blouin Tardif Architects as an intern in architectural technology before the end of his college career and following the completion of his DEC. While working for the firm, Mathias is currently pursuing his academic path at École de Technologie Supérieure where he is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering, from which he hopes to obtain the title of engineer with a specialization in building envelope.
“Ironically, École de Technologie Supérieure is one of the main clients I am working with; and my favorite project to work on right now is a laboratory layout project. This one involves building an enclosure to hold a lab for a hyper-sensitive microscope. Soundproofing, vibration and thermal control are very important factors to keep in check, and these require particular attention in terms of coordination between various professionals and the development of technical details.”
